Ladies and Gentlemen:

I have just returned from the picket line in Chicago where nearly 400 Flight Attendants marched and chanted for three hours. Reports from our Local Councils around the world confirm this is another day of historic proportions.  Together we sent a clear message that we are not only willing, we are ready to do Whatever It Takes to support our proposals for an Industry-Leading Contract.

Today many of you showed up and took steps to change your future for the better in another unprecedented show of Solidarity among United Flight Attendants. On the heels of management’s latest attempt to distract us by insinuating they have proposed Continental pay rates, albeit tied to work rule decimation in the name of “competition” and “productivity,” you sent a message loud and clear: Hell no! No more concessions!

As we relive the powerful experiences today, we continue to build momentum in our Contract Campaign. Until our next public demonstration of Solidarity and determination, continue to attend Local Power & Action seminars and take part in the discussion about building a Strike Fund. Attend a Local Council meeting to discuss the merits of a Strike Fund and how we want to shape the funding of it to be confirmed through a Membership vote. Take part in this discussion and advise your Local Council President of your opinions prior to the start of the regular spring MEC meeting beginning April 24th. This is also the time to continue to provide your feedback to our negotiators through the electronic survey open through the end of April.

As reports and pictures continue to pour in from protests around the world, we encourage you to relive or experience the euphoric feeling of standing together with your sisters and brothers for a new Contract that reflects our work at United Airlines. Take a look at the photos and videos on www.unitedafa.org.

Your dedication and commitment to bettering our experience is inspirational. It is an honor to stand with you. Stand strong, stand proud and stand together.

In Solidarity,

Greg Davidowitch, President
United Master Executive Council
