Maria Hovanesian, Manager
Onboard Services – BOSSW
c/o United Airlines, Inc.
300 Terminal C Logan Intl. Airport
East Boston, MA 02128

Dear Maria,

While your time in Boston on a daily basis may be coming to an end, you will always feel a connection to Boston. Before your departure as the domicile manager I would like to take an opportunity to focus on a significant issue for the Boston Flight Attendant population.

As you know enhancing travel benefits for Flight Attendants at United should be a priority as United begins to address quality of life issues outside of bankruptcy. Other airlines are benefiting from reciprocal cabin seat agreements and I truly believe that these benefits can work for United, and more specifically the Boston domicile in many ways.

"These kinds of enhancements can help to quell the hardships of relocation for the many Flight Attendants that have come to Boston following the closures of the MIA, PHL, EWR, and CDG domiciles."

These kinds of enhancements can help to quell the hardships of relocation for the many Flight Attendants that have come to Boston following the closures of the MIA, PHL, EWR, and CDG domiciles.

When these domiciles closed, the Boston domicile welcomed them with open arms and extended very kind offers of support during the transition. Despite the challenges that these changes have presented, our Boston based commuters (which represent a significant portion of the Boston domicile) have used other airlines such as JetBlue to arrive at work on time. They have done so as part of their contribution to keeping United running on time.

Other airlines such as JetBlue have expressed an interest in achieving these agreements with United Airlines.

Maria, the success of the Boston Domicile has always been about us working together. Before you officially depart for another position at United, I encourage you to contribute to our domicile’s future success by demanding that Flight Attendants be provided with the valuable resource of reciprocal cabin seat agreements with other airlines.

I stand ready to assist you and encourage you to champion this opportunity for Boston Flight Attendants and the continued success of the Boston Domicile.

Sincerely,

Adam Thomas
President
AFA-CWA Council 27
