Eligibility

  • A minimum of 15 years of service with United Airlines as a Flight Attendant, on or before August 31, 2012.
  • Active Flight Attendants, including those on Voluntary Furlough and/or approved Leave of Absence.
  • No age restriction.
  • Have not bid for or been awarded the Cross Over program.

Pay Out

  • $2,400 per full year of service as a Flight Attendant, up to a maximum of $60,000.
  • Minimum payout of $36,000.  (All payments will be subject to applicable taxation and withholding)
  • Paid within 30 days of Early Out effective date.
  • No portion of the Early Out payment can be deferred into the 401(k) account, nor is this money considered to be "Qualifying Wages" under Section 5.J.1.f. of the Contract.

  • UAL will subsidize COBRA premiums for first 3 months. (Flight Attendant premium not to exceed active rate for first 3 months.)
  • Option to purchase COBRA premiums for 15 additional months at the full cost of the insurance and administration.

Pass Travel:

Early Out Letter of Agreement, 3. - A Flight Attendant who is awarded an Early Out Package and who, on the date of her/his separation from employment, is eligible to retire with retiree pleasure travel privileges under the polices in effect at the time for United employees, shall be entitled to such retiree pleasure travel privileges as part of the Early Out Package on the same terms and subject to the same conditions, present and future, as retirees. Pass Travel:

  • NRSA travel for a maximum of 15 years.
  • Retiree pass travel benefits upon reaching age requirement (15 years serves as a bridge to retiree pass travel privileges).
  • If 15 years expire without the Flight Attendant aging into eligibility for retiree pleasure travel privileges, her/his Early Out Passes cease at the expiration of the 15-year period, and the Flight Attendant is ineligible for retiree pleasure travel privileges.
