Tentative Agreement With United Airlines

Date: January 7, 2012
Type: AFA Article

Ladies and Gentlemen:

We have reached a Tentative Agreement with United Airlines.

See: AFA Media Release

The Agreement is now subject to approval by the United Master Executive Council (MEC), who will meet in a special session this Sunday, January 8, 2012.  Until that time, full details of the Tentative Agreement will not be made public.  If approved by the MEC, the Tentative Agreement will be sent to the Membership for careful consideration and ratification.

There can be no doubt that if it were not for the clear commitment of United Flight Attendants in supporting our United Master Executive Council and us, we would not have been able to achieve the events of today. Together we will better our lives and our profession through our Solidarity as we work towards improving our future. We will achieve a Single Contract that is Good for Flight Attendants, Good for Company and unite us all.

In Solidarity,

Greg Davidowitch, Jack Kande, Shirley Barber, Ken Diaz and Eric Wright

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As of midnight tonight, our Negotiating Committee remains in negotiations and are giving every effort toward reaching a Tentative Agreement. We understood from the beginning this would be a challenging process, and we remain committed to pursue an Agreement that Flight Attendants can support and vote for.

When our Expedited Mediation process concludes, we will report the outcome. The information will first be distributed through the Flight Attendant Negotiations Network (FANN), then on our website and afterwards in E-Lines.

Keep in mind the process, which we’ve reported in the FANN and on our website, provides specific details about any Tentative Agreement will first be presented to the MEC and subsequently, to the Membership.
