The Known Crewmember (KCM) program allows Flight Attendants and Pilots at many airlines to enjoy the convenience of an expedited security screening. 

AFA worked with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to ensure that Flight Attendants would be included in this vital program, which allows participating crewmembers to access sterile areas of the airport through a separate crew portal.

The continued success of the program is dependent upon crewmembers demonstrating that they can be trusted to comply with all related requirements.  

Unfortunately, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has found circumstances where there have been violations of the KCM requirements. Such conduct can jeopardize crewmembers of their right to participate in the program and consequently jeopardizes the entire Known Crewmember (KCM) program.

Therefore, it’s important that all crewmembers abide by the rules of this program in order to protect your ability to participate in the Known Crewmember program.

As a reminder, KCM is accessible only for "active" crewmembers.  If you have been inactive, on leave, or if you have been temporarily removed from service, you will not have KCM access.

Also keep in mind that when returning to active status there will be a delay in updating your status to “active” which may result in your inability to use KCM access.

Also, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Notice to Participating Airlines regarding crewmember compliance with KCM regulations. Please be aware of the rules and give extra time to go through checkpoints.
