Voluntary Return for pre-merger United 2014 Bridge Crossover Participants

Date: July 27, 2015
Type: AFA Article

Due to the advocacy of your Union, AFA-CWA and United have reached an agreement to allow Flight Attendants who participated in the 2014 Bridge Crossover program to return back to pre-merger United. Flight Attendants will have the option to choose to return to pre-merger United to locations designated by United that have vacancies. The return to pre-merger United is voluntary.

We encourage you to review the Letter of Agreement completely which can be found on our website.

  • If interested in participating in this program, you must notify United by August 14, 2015 at 1700 Central Time.
  • 2014 Bridge Crossover returns will return to locations with vacancies. Vacancies at this time currently exist at JFK. Additional vacancies may become available at IAH and SFO domicile. No other location at this time is currently considered available for transfers. You may submit transfer requests upon reporting to your assigned pre-merger United location. Section 22.A.3 (6-month wait) will not apply.
  • United will determine when Flight Attendants will be released from their pre-merger Continental base. Assignment to the new pre-merger United domicile will be awarded in seniority order amongst all Flight Attendants in this crossover return. All Flight Attendants will return to pre-merger United before March 1, 2016.
  • Those Flight Attendants that elect to remain at pre-merger Continental will continue under the terms of the existing 2014 Bridge Crossover Agreement.

Additional information, including how to submit your intent to return to pre-merger United will be sent to those Flight Attendants affected this week through a CCS message.
