Flight Attendants at Continental can’t count on the same extensive benefits, nor have the same assurance that they will be there for them. The Machinists’ contract for Continental Flight Attendants includes only three pages about benefits, and many of them – like health insurance – are company programs that can be changed at management’s whim.
Here’s what the Machinists’ contract says about Continental Flight Attendants’ benefits: “Before any changes are made to such programs, the Company will notify the Union in writing in advance of the effective date of such change(s). Upon request by the Union, the Company will meet to explain the change(s).”
