Our God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come:

O be our guard while troubles last, and our eternal home."

May we all lift thoughts and prayers for the family and friends of those lost Tuesday, especially for those of our colleagues.

Dear United Crew members:

I want to send a note to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am a Flight Attendant for Northwest Airlines, and I know there are no words to describe the grief and the tragedy of the horrible events.

You have lost friends and colleagues, and we all have lost brothers and sisters. Our lives are forever changed, I pray we will all find the guidance to get through this horror. May peace and God's blessings be with us all.

For our Brave Crew

May the choirs of Angels
Come to greet you
May they speed you to Paradise.

May the Lord enfold you
In His Mercy
May you find Eternal Life.

-Song of Farewell

We will always remember your bravery and courage.

Glenn Pingol, SFOSW

I am a flight attendant in El Al Israeli Airline for 32 years.

On September 1970 I was nearly hijacked by Arabs terrorists who board our plane with weapon and grenades. We fought with them and we were the only airline on that day that was not hijacked to Zarka in Jordan.

Since then we have strict security on our planes.

Everything came up to me again after what happened last week.
i would like to send my sympathy to every crew member in your union and ask you not to give up the security regulations ever, especially cockpit door always locked!

God Bless you all...

I have flown for United for 35 years.

My motto for the past 25 years has been.

It is my prayer for all those that have lost loved ones that they may be forever UNITED WITH JESUS! May the peace of Jesus comfort you all as we lift you up daily in prayer.

The following is a poem I have written in honor of my friend and colleague, Mrs. Deborah A. Welsh. She was a Newark-based Flight Attendant who lost her life in the line of duty onboard United Air Lines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. She was an unforgettable 'card' and will be forever missed.

I Think We Were Friends

I think we were friends, Deborah & I,
Though in the same crew, we would never fly.

With our 'pill-box' hat on, she was striking to see,
A career Flight Attendant, she was so proud to be.

She was classy and tall; she held her head high,
She was such a better professional than I.

She was funny and loud, a treat to be around,
During our seven week training, strict times - she clowned!

A group of us grew close; we spoke of life, love, and fears,
For sure we'd get kicked out, she brought us laughing to tears!

But, she was a New-Yorker, no question about it,
She fiercely fought for our freedom. I will not doubt it!

She overflowed with life; she was warm and a beauty,
She fell to her death, in the line of our duty.

She was very well loved, so many will miss her.
She took the last hint of this job's glamour with her.

Deborah's with God now, holding her head high,
A guardian angel…who still loves to fly.

Here's how one very tragic story ends,
As for Deborah & I, I think we were friends.

(My prayers go out to all of the victims, their families, and their friends, during this time of utter sadness.)

I've been flying United since 1988. Over the years I've made a lot of friends with some of the JFK based crews. Since I'm in the toy business, I usually pass out toy key chains. I love making F/A's smile!

I've always been treated professionally too.

So it's with a heavy heart, that I send condolences to all of you at UA.

We frequent flyers DO feel like family; and when one of us is hurting, we all hurt.

The Brave Men and Women in the Airline Industry

I cannot sleep or concentrate. I am in shock and mourning as is most of America. Several members of my family died last week. I grieve their passing deeply, yet no one else has talked about them much. They were some of the first lost in Tuesday’s massacre, yet they remain virtually nameless and faceless.

My family are the flight attendants and pilots of the United States, albeit of the world. We are not family related by blood, but by spirit. We are the men and women that make our living in the sky. We are linked by sixty years plus of passenger service, smooth and emergency landings, boardings and evacuations, tending to the sick, the elderly, and to the handicapped. Some of us are even second generation airline family members, and we are proud of our unique heritage.

Unfortunately, it would appear that America may have forgotten these victims of Tuesday’s disaster. I know first hand how crew members react to emergencies. They will protect the aircraft and passengers despite considerable risk to themselves. For this reason I have no doubt that the flight attendants and pilots on the American and United flights that perished on Tuesday conducted themselves with all the spirit of American heroes. I am proud to be a member of this family for it is our fate to work in a job that strives to keep others safe, and we do it with great pride.

May God bless and keep safe America and the brave men and women in the commercial airline industry. In our grief over the thousands lost on September 11 we should not forget those flight attendants and pilots that lost their lives in the line of duty. They are someone’s family too. I am honored and grateful to say that they are mine.

To the Families of Heavens' newest addition!!

During this time it is hard to find words to express our sympathies, but in our hearts we are saturated with sadness for your losses. We want you to know we are in prayer for comfort and peace for all of you.

Their passing was not in vain, this has taught us to be kinder to one another and shown us how precious each day of life really is.
There is a verse we would like to share in hopes you find a sense of comfort.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

I would like to extend my condolences to the families of our fallen brothers and sisters. This is a true tragedy and it extends to all people across the world. I am originally from the middle east and of Arabic descent.

I just want everyone to know that the MAJORITY of middle eastern people are mortified by this horrific act of terror and are all mourning along w/everyone else.  Many Arab Americans were working in the world trade center in NY and lost their lives in this WORLD tragedy.

Again, I send my condolences to everyone affected and hope we all keep an open mind about our fellow Arab Americans now and forever.

I was not there physically, but I lost part of my heart when I saw the airplane slam into the building. What were the doomed flight attendants thinking? Were they hopeful? I hope so, I pray so. I hope they died with hope, not with despair.

These brave individuals gave the ultimate sacrifice for their job, as a United Flight Attendant. A job that I am sure they loved.

During that horrible day, I know that they all did everything they could to keep themselves, the passengers, and the airplanes safe. They are true heroes and they must never be forgotten.

I am a United Airlines Flight Attendant and have been flying for 24 years. We are all a "family" of flight attendants and if one of us is hurt, we all hurt. My husband, Terry, is a Captain in the Honolulu Fire Department, and he is feeling deep hurt about his lost colleagues in the New York Fire Department. Families from United, American, N.Y.Fire Department, World Trade Center, and more, have been so terribly hurt from the events of September 11th. No American's life will ever be the same.

May we always remember the sacrifices that were made on that day; always remember the rescuers who continue to work so hard; always remember our President, who is working so hard to "take back our America"; and finally, never forget that we are TRUE Safety Professionals, who will strive to take our skies back, and make our fallen colleagues proud.

In loving memory of the flight attendants and pilots from United and American.

May God Bless them and May God Bless America.

With much love and aloha,

Dawn Snyder-Seelig, HNLSW
