Secondary Security Procedures are Country Specific

Date: October 20, 2017
Type: AFA Article

We have been advised by corporate security that there have multiple complaints voiced from both Flight Attendants and Pilots regarding the need to go through the secondary security checkpoint at the boarding gate in Panama City, PA (PTY).  Just a reminder, the requirement for redundant screening at the boarding gate is a country procedure/regulation and United does not have any jurisdiction or advocacy rights for other country’s policies or regulations. This screening is not new and has been in place for approximately the last 4 years.  Also, please note that crew members are subject to this procedure.
