Welcome to the United AFA MEC Benefits Committee voluntary supplemental insurance resource page. pmUA Flight Attendants who are currently enrolled in AFLAC policies under Design Benefits with premiums paid via payroll deduction should have received a letter with information addressing the impending conversion of their current AFLAC policies to Allstate and opt out instructions. In addition, active Flight Attendants enrolled in voluntary insurance programs from AFLAC who currently pay premiums directly either by credit card or ACH deduction from your personal accounts will also be receiving information on converting to the Allstate products. 2018 Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Benefits Enrollment

2018 Open Enrollment Begins January 15, 2018 with Two Options for Voluntary Insurance Benefits.

The AFA United MEC Benefits Committee is happy to announce Open Enrollment for supplemental insurance benefits for United Flight Attendants. Beginning January, 2018, Flight Attendants will have Two options for Voluntary Insurance Benefits.

Flight Attendants will have the option to enroll in voluntary insurance programs through either of our current providers, Design Benefits and National Group Protection (NGP).

Beginning January 15, 2018, representatives from Design Benefits and National Group Protection (NGP) will be available in each domicile to answer questions and to enroll those interested in a variety of voluntary benefit plans which include:

  • Group Voluntary (Short Term) Disability Income
  • Critical Illness with Cancer
  • Cancer Policy
  • Group Voluntary Accident Insurance
  • Group Hospital Indemnity Coverage
  • Life Insurance

In addition to the base visits by these representatives, there will be opportunities to enroll online and via telephone appointments. Additional information will be posted as it becomes avaiable.
